Thanks David. From my "research" I have learned there are a number of other bars in Sellwood besides the Yukon which I have already visited. The Leipzig and the Muddy Rudder sound like another multiple-stop option on thebeerchaser tour this spring. Keep your schedule flexible!!

Sounds like a great spot. Reminds me of a wonderful Sellwood pub, the Muddy Rudder, on Tacoma St just on the east side of the Sellwood Bridge. Cosy, great neighborhood atmosphere, and some excellent bluegrass music. Good beer and food too.

I like how this topic delves into pub culture and function. Who doesn't occasionally go to a pub for a bull session? I know our beach house would have rotted to the ground without two men I know using the safe forum of McMinnamin's to hash out the issues...

Delighted to hear that George Jones is your favorite country singer. Did you see him at the Schnitz a few years ago? The voice is losing steam but his heart filled the auditorium. By the way, you should try the Muddy Rudder Pub in Sellwood (on Tacoma just East of the Sellwood Bridge). Great bluegrass band 1st and 3rd Wednesdays. The place has a great neighborhood feel and a wide range of fabulous brew on tap. Keep up the good work, Beer Chaser!!

This post has charming quotes and shows appreciation for people at work. It made me smile. I'm not a bartender, but come to think of it, I can relate to the drunk-or-stupid question!
Cheers,
MJ
