  2. Had to sell all my old vinyl recently due to my Dad’s passing but I remember well the excitement of playing records. It’s easier to play almost anything now but visual or tactile cues are sorely missing. Since I’m playing stuff mostly on my phone, even with decent headphones it’s not as loud as I’d like!

  3. My dad had a wonderful collection of Big Band music on 78’s. At one time I had a turnable that would play them, but it eventually failed. They were in the original album covers and I saved them for thirty years thinking they would be very valuable one day.

Before we moved last year, I checked it out on the internet and at a few record shops. There was essentially no market. I loved one of the small record stores and told him that I would donate them to him as long as he promised me he would find them a good home. He thought he could sell them to a collector. I just didn’t want them going into the landfill and the memory to be preserved.

Thanks for the comment, Rich. I think our dads were a lot alike!
